Veterinary clinic “Blue cross” obtains last generation up to date equipped laboratory:


-Hematology blood analyzer- shows the number, the ratio and sizes of the different blood cells/red blood cells, the types of white blood cells: neutrophils, lymphocytes, eosinophils and platelets/, the hematocrit and the hemoglobin quantity. These indices give a possibility for rapid estimation of the patient status- development of infection, anemia, exicosis etc.


-Biochemistry profile blood analyzer- gives an opportunity to assess the functional status of number of internal organs/kidneys, liver, pancreas/ and diagnosing the metabolic disorders.


-Electrolyte and Ph blood analyzer- the electrolytes are different ions /potassium, sodium, calcium, chlorine/diluted in the blood, which have very important role-they are responsible for water balance in the organism and for proper work of its organs. The changes in the electrolyte quantity is connected with kidney insufficiency, diabetes, hypo- and hyperadrenocorticism, diarrhea, vomiting. Finding these changes and correct them is vital for the good outcome of the disease.


-Urinalysis- sediment and specific gravity-the findings can point diseases of the urogenital tract, crystals and calculi, a common reason for problems of our pets.


-Rapid tests- the clinic is supplied with large variety of rapid tests /snap test / for different infectious diseases of the dog and cat (parvovirosis, coronavirosis, canine distemper, leishmaniasis, rabies, brucellosis, feline panleucopenia, feline leukemia, feline immunodeficiency virosis, Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, erlichiosis),as well as tests for some parasitic diseases as giardiasis, heartworm disease (the last is diagnosed more often in our latitudes now, although not typical before).
 

-Stool test- a great part of the parasitic diseases in the dog and cat can be diagnosed by flotation of a fecal probe /for parasites of the digestive system/ or by the method of Baermann /for parasites of the respiratory system/ and the specimen is observed under microscope.


-Cerebrospinal fluid analysis- used in inflammatory processes of different origin.


-Mycotic culture
 

-Cytological examination- used in blood cell disorders, for staging the canine reproductive cycle


-Microscopic examination of skin scrapings-used in demodicosis, scabies etc.


-Rabies antibody titer test + international certificate


-Hyperadrenocorticism test
